Chapter 15
Nick walked into the house, tired from a long hard day’s work
and the drama from Cindy. After their sexual affair at work, and the attitude
at lunch with Selena from Cindy, she had ignored Nick the rest of the day. Nick
didn’t care. He had too much on his mind: his work and his wife, Selena. The
guilt was really settling in with him. He walked into the kitchen loosening his
tie when he smelled lasagna. Did Selena cook? Did she make his favorite dish,
lasagna? He walked over to the oven and opened the hatch. Sure enough it was
lasagna baking in the oven. Nick smiled. Nick could hear Selena coming down the
stairs. Selena rushed into the kitchen wearing Nick’s old, oversized college
maroon t-shirt, and carrying Nina’s baby bottle. She jumped out of fear to see
someone in the kitchen. “Holy crap, Nick, you scared me!” Selena said holding
her chest. “I didn’t hear you come in.”
Nick smiled, “Im sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.”
Selena ran her fingers thru her long hair as it flowed over her shoulders. “You’re home early. I thought you had another meeting.”
Nick slowly walked up to Selena, “It was canceled, thank goodness. Im so tired.” He grabbed a hold of the tshirt Selena was wearing, and pulled her close to him. “I got you something.” Selena looked puzzled wondering what he had. He whipped around from behind his back a beautiful bouquet of vibrant multi-colored fresh cut tulips. They were Selena’s favorite type of flowers.

He whipped around from behind his back a beautiful bouquet of vibrant multi-colored fresh cut tulips. They were Selena’s favorite type of flowers.
Selena’s eyes went wide and her mouth dropped open when she
saw the beautiful flowers. “Aww, Nick! They are beautiful! Thank you!” She
looked up at him and gave him a kiss on the lips. Taking a sniff of the tulips,
she asked, “What’s the occasion? Why such beautiful flowers today?”
Nick knew that it had been months since he had bought flowers for her. But the guilt of cheating on her was weighing heavily on his conscious. Nick gently raised his hand to her face, softly rubbing her cheek with his thumb, “Just because. Because Im sorry about today…about Cindy … and the whole lunch thing. Because…I love you.” Nick leaned forward and kissed her tenderly on the lips.
Selena pulled away and smiled at him. “Thank you. I love you too. I was trying to set the mood tonite. Cook your favorite dish, run your bath water for you, and make sure Nina was fast asleep…but everything didn’t quite work out that way.” Selena laughed as she walked away from him to put the flowers in water. “I just got Nina to sleep, and I was going to get ready to run your bath water for you…but you’re here already.”
Nick took off his suit jacket and untied his tie. “All that for me?” Nick said slightly surprised. Selena nodded with a smile. “Maybe I should ask you, what’s the occasion?“ Nick smiled walking up behind Selena removing her hair from around her neck. He softly kissed her neck as he wrapped his arms around her waist. Nick was loving this moment with Selena. For once Selena didn’t move away from him. She was accepting his affection to her. They weren’t arguing. He had been waiting for this tender moment between the two of them for a long time. He hoped there wasn’t a hidden agenda behind it, but he decided to shelter that thought and not say anything.
“No special occasion,” Selena replied with a smile embracing Nick’s touch. “Just because…” she then turned around to face him, “…because I love you.” They began to tenderly kiss each other’s lips. They both gently pulled away from each other as Nick rested his forehead against Selena’s. “Are you hungry?” Selena asked softly looking into his chocolate orbs.
Nick smiled. “How about I take a shower first and then we can eat.”
“Okay.” Selena responded giving him a peck on the lips. She then started to walk away, but Nick stopped her as he held on to her waist. “Join me in the shower?” Selena smiled and agreed.
Moments later they were both in the shower together making passionate love to each other. It was obvious by their aggressive passion how much they truly missed making love to each other. Their love making continued even after the shower as it lead to their bed.
After they both reached their climax, Selena leaned down and rested on top of Nick’s muscular chest as he held her tightly against him. Both slowly breathing heavily, catching their breaths. Selena whispered, “Nick, you know I love you, right?” Nick looked down at her. Her dark hair sprawled against his chest. He began to run his fingers thru her damp wavy hair. This is how it should have been a few nights ago. It should have never been Cindy’s hair sprawled against his chest. It should have never been Cindy he was having sex with in his office. Nick thought to himself, ‘what have I done?’
Selena raised her head up to look at Nick, “Right?” she asked again when he didn’t respond.
Snapping out of his thoughts, Nick replied looking back at Selena, “Yeah…of course. I love you too. I love you more than anything.”
Selena smiled and slid up to kiss his lips. She then asked, “You would never cheat on me, right?”
Nick was taken back by her question. It was like she was reading his thoughts. He couldn’t believe what he was about to say, but he knew he had to. “Of course not…I love you too much.”
Selena gave him another kiss on the lips. She then asked, “So…we can be honest with each other, right? I mean, we can tell each other anything…right?”
Nick was starting to get worried. Was she testing him? What was the reasoning behind all the questions? Did she know something? Had she done anything? Nick started to frown at the thought. “Yeah…baby, what are you getting at? I mean if there’s something you need to tell me, then just tell me.”
Selena could tell Nick was starting to get defensive. She moved off of him and sat up holding their bed sheet against her bare chest. She removed her damp hair from her face flipping it to the side. Nick sat up beside her. He could tell she had something on her mind. If she knew something about him cheating, he wanted her to just come out and confront him. He didn’t want to volunteer any information she may not know. “What, Sel?” Nick asked pushing for a response.
Selena took a deep breath, “Friday night when I went to the club with Chelsea and Nicole…” she paused. Nick’s heart started to race. He had no idea what she was about to say. Selena looked over at Nick, “I kind of… kissed someone.” She confessed shamefully.

Chapter 16
Nick was relieved. She knew nothing about he and Cindy. But
wait…she just said she kissed someone? Nick frowned, “You what? What do you
mean you kind of kissed someone? Who?”
“I know. It wasn’t even a real kiss. He just kind of kissed me goodbye, but it was nothing. I just felt like I needed to tell you.” Selena said defending herself.
“What do you mean, he kissed you goodbye? Who?” Nick said upset as he glared at Selena.
“Nick, please, don’t get upset. It was Taylor, Chelsea’s brother. But like I said it was nothing!” Selena pleaded.
Nick started to think about the study groups she always went to at Chelsea’s house. How whenever Selena went over there, she would dress up in her cutest outfits and put make up on. Nick knew Taylor stayed with Chelsea. Was Selena getting dressed up for Taylor? Nick thought about the dress she wore that night to the club. The thought of Taylor being there and the fact of him kissing Selena infuriated Nick. Nick slowly got out of the bed and put on his boxers.
Selena wasn’t sure how to take Nick’s reaction. “Nick? Where are you going?”
Nick didn’t respond. He walked out of the bedroom and headed downstairs to fix himself a plate of Selena’s lasagna. Selena quickly grabbed the first piece of clothing she could find, which happened to be one of Nick’s white collar shirts. She threw it on, only buttoning 2 of the lower buttons closed, and followed Nick downstairs. She stood in the doorway of the kitchen as she watched Nick fix his plate of food. “Nick…there’s nothing to be upset about, okay? Im sorry…I just felt that I should tell you.” Nick didn’t respond. Selena folded her arms across her chest. “Well, are you going to say anything?” Nick walked passed Selena with his plate of food in his hand and plopped down on the sofa in the living room. He grabbed the remote control and started to watch television. Selena looked solemn. She walked over to the sofa and sat beside him, facing him with one leg tucked under her. “Nick…please. You said we could talk to each other. Just talk to me. Say something. Anything.”
Nick finished chewing his food in his mouth before he spoke, “So that’s why you would get dressed up for study groups, right?” Nick asked not making eye contact with Selena.
“What? No.” Selena replied slightly confused.
“That’s why you wanted to go out to the club…to be with him, right?”
“No.”
“So what else did you two do?” Nick asked still not making eye contact with Selena.
“Nothing! I told you everything. I mean there was some flirting at the club but that’s it. It was a simple peck and that’s it.” Selena replied innocently.
“A simple peck? Flirting?” Nick glanced over at Selena. Selena looked at Nick with a suspicious eye.
“Yeah, you know flirting…kind of like how Cindy does with you.”
Nick looked at Selena. “Sel, don’t start. Don’t try to turn this around on me. We’re talking about you and this guy Taylor. Do you have feelings for him?”
“No! I love YOU, Nick.” Selena said she rested her chin on his shoulder wrapping her arms around him.
Nick thought about how silly it was for him to get so angry at the fact that she kissed another guy, when he had sex with another woman…twice. Nick loves Selena. He could never let her find out about he and Cindy. Nick hoped that at least Selena was telling him the whole truth and a simple kiss was all that was shared between her and Taylor. Nick looked down at his half eaten lasagna. He scooped up a small amount on his fork and raised it up for Selena to take a bite. Selena smiled and took the forkful into her mouth. Nick looked at her, “I love you more.” Selena pecked his lips. Taking another forkful of lasagna into his mouth, Nick responded, “Just promise me you won’t go over to Chelsea’s house anymore.”
“Nick, she’s part of my study group.”
“Then let them come over here. Or go to the damn library. I just don’t want you near Taylor.”
Selena looked into Nick’s jealous eyes. She giggled. She thought he was so cute showing his jealous side. “Okay. I promise.” She kissed his cheek. “Promise me that you and that Cindy bitch keep things strictly work related. No flirting.”
Nick felt bad for lying to his wife about the whole Cindy situation, but he felt he had to in order to keep the marriage at peace. “I promise.” He gave her a peck on the lips.
“Oh by the way, guess who’s coming to town this weekend?” Selena asked gleaming with excitement. Nick raised his eyebrows waiting for her to tell him. “Demi!”
Nick smiled saying, “Awesome!” Nick knew Demi coming to town would make Selena happy. Nick was glad Demi was coming to town which may explain why Selena was in such a good mood today.

A couple of days had passed and Nick was happy that Cindy
had been ignoring him. She was doing her job at work and not really speaking to
Nick unless there was a need to. Until this day. Nick walked into the break
room and strolled up to one of the vending machines. He wore a lavender shirt with
his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, a black tie and black trousers. He
couldn’t decide if he wanted peanut M&M’s or Snickers. His sweet tooth was
begging for something. As Nick dug into his trouser pockets for loose change,
Cindy stepped right in front of the vending machine looking into Nick’s eyes.
Nick jumped back at the sight of her presence. She was wearing her hair down
swooped to one side over her right shoulder and a white blouse and gray short
skirt. “Hi Nicky, how are you?” she said as she put her hands on her hips.
Nick slightly rolled his eyes. “Do you mind? Trying to get something to snack on.” Nick gently touched her arm to move her out of the way.
Cindy quickly wrapped her arms around Nick and tried to kiss him. “I’ve missed you.”
Nick quickly moved her hands away and pushed her away. “Cindy, stop.” Nick said calmly trying not to draw any attention if anyone were to walk by the large empty break room.
“Baby, what’s wrong?”
Nick started to walk away from her but she stopped him by pulling on his arm. Nick snatched his arm away from her grip. “Cindy, Im warning you. Don’t touch me.” Nick replied thru his teeth and pointing his finger in her face.
Swiping his finger away from her face, Cindy responded, “What is your problem, Nick? Why are you acting like this?” Before Nick could respond, someone walked into the break room allowing Nick to step back from Cindy as if they weren’t talking.
“Hey, Nick, Cindy, what’s going on?” asked a random guy who works on the same floor as they do.
Rubbing his fingers thru his curly hair, Nick responded with a fake smile, ‘Hey Dylan, how’s it going.”
Cindy only glared at Nick totally ignoring the random guy named Dylan. Dylan proceeded to talk to Nick about work related stuff when Cindy interrupted, “Uh, listen, Dylan…you need to leave. Nick and I were discussing some really important things.”
Dylan was shocked at Cindy’s rudeness. He then looked at Nick to see if he could tell what really was going on. Nick avoided eye contact as he nodded in agreement with Cindy. “Oohh, okay. My bad, I had no idea.”
Nick looked up at Dylan and patted his shoulder. “Hey, I’ll catch up with you later, alright Dylan.”
“Yea, sure…no prob.” He nodded at Nick and quickly looked at Cindy as he left out of the break room.
Cindy walked up to Nick placing her hand on his face, “Babe, why are –“
Nick interrupted Cindy by removing her hand from his face and firmly saying to her, “Look, Cindy, this thing we had going on–“
“Had?” Cindy interrupted looking hurt.
“Yes, had. It’s not going to happen anymore, alright.”
Cindy slowly allowed a smile to spread across her lips.
“Cindy, Im serious.” Cindy giggled, “Nick, honey, you said that before, remember. I know you’re just in one of your moods right now.” She attempted to touch his face again, but Nick stopped her once again. “No, Cindy. Dammit, Im serious. Im a happily married man. Please, don’t make this difficult.” Nick said and walked away from her.
Cindy folded her arms across her chest as she watched Nick walk away. “We’ll see about that,” she said to herself.
Nick slightly rolled his eyes. “Do you mind? Trying to get something to snack on.” Nick gently touched her arm to move her out of the way.

Chapter 17
Nick was getting ready to head home when he stopped off at
George’s office with his brief case and suit jacket in his hands. “Hey, George,
you wanted to see me before I left?” Nick asked popping his head into George’s
office with the door cracked open.
George was on the phone when he waved for Nick to come into his office. Nick opened the door wider and stepped in. That’s when he saw Cindy standing at the end of George’s desk. Cindy and Nick made eye contact but she didn’t smile. Nick slowly stepped closer to George’s desk but left a lot of space between himself and Cindy. Nick gathered his thoughts as he prepared for whatever was going to transpire in the office between the three.
George wrapped up his phone conversation and hung the phone up. George sat back in his plush black leather chair as he looked up at both Cindy and Nick. “What a day, I tell ya. You can’t please everyone, right?” George said looking tired.
“What’s going on?” Nick asked George.
“Oh, yea, well I wanted to talk to you about my client’s charity function this weekend. Cindy here,” he looked at Cindy and winked at her like a proud father. Cindy smiled at him. George continued, “…came up with a great idea. Of course it’s a family oriented function, and Cindy thought it would be great to have a kissing booth.” George started to chuckle and continued, “She suggested that you, Nick, be a part of it. Have the ladies line up for a kiss with Nick. I think it’s brilliant. Not only will you score big with the ladies, you will definitely score big with the clients.”
Nick chuckled in disbelief. “Me, in a kissing booth? Sir, I don’t think so.”
“Why not? You’re a good looking young man, I think half of this company of females would line up to kiss you, son.” George replied with a smile.
“Sir, Im married, remember?”
“Oh, Nick, Im sure the wife wouldn’t mind you kissing other harmless women.” Cindy sneered.
Nick glared at Cindy. “Actually…I mind. These lips are for kissing my wife only.” Nick clenched his jaw muscle as he made sure Cindy understood what he meant by not taking his eyes off of her.
Cindy smirked. “Oh really? Could have fooled me.”
George looked at both Nick and Cindy suspiciously wondering what the underlying tension in the air was about. “I feel like Im caught in the middle of something I shouldn’t be in the middle of. Is everything ok with you two?”
“Everything is fine, sir.” Nick responded looking at Cindy. He then brought his attention back to George. “What about a dunking booth. Maybe Cindy could be the one being dunked in water. I would definitely line up for that.” Nick smirked.
Cindy laughed and then narrowed her eyes at Nick. “I bet you would.”
George’s eyes once again moved back and forth between Nick and Cindy. “Okay, whatever is going on between you two…fix it. I sense some tension and I don’t want any tension at the charity function. Whatever you two decide, I need you both to volunteer in some kind of activity. It will show the clients how much we are invested with them. So work it out.” '
“Yes, sir.” Both Nick and Cindy said in unison.
“Oh and Nick, I’ll see you bright and early in the morning for our 7am meeting with the east coast.” George said. Nick agreed and left out of George’s office. Cindy followed.
Nick stood at the elevators waiting for one to go downstairs to the lobby so he could go home. The elevator door opened with two females already on board. Nick smiled and nodded as he hopped on. Just as the door was about to close, Cindy stuck her purse between the doors to allow the doors to open back up. When Nick saw Cindy he rolled his eyes. Cindy smirked at Nick but said nothing. The elevator went down one floor, and the two women originally on board, got off the elevator while a male and female hopped into the elevator with Cindy and Nick. Cindy and Nick were now in the back of the elevator. Cindy moved closer to Nick. Without making a scene, Nick moved closer to the wall of the elevator to get away from her. Cindy moved closer to Nick where Nick couldn’t move again. Nick clenched his jaw muscles out of annoyance. The elevator stopped on the 10th floor. The male and female got off the elevator leaving Nick and Cindy alone. As soon as the elevator doors closed, Cindy made her move on Nick trying to kiss him. Nick forcefully grabbed her face and pushed her off of him making her hit the other side of the elevator wall. Cindy started to laugh as she grabbed for his dick thru his pants. “Stop it!” Nick grabbed both of her arms and held them up above her head.
Cindy smiled. “I love it when you’re rough with me Nick. Brings back so many memories.” She tried to kiss on Nick but Nick slightly moved back as he still held her arms up against the wall.
“Listen! This has to stop! Do you understand me? We are not doing this anymore, got it!” Nick felt the elevator stop. Nick quickly stepped away from Cindy as the doors opened on the 4th floor. An older woman and two guys stepped into the elevator with Cindy and Nick. They all looked at both Cindy and Nick suspiciously as they stepped in. Cindy had lowered her arms down to her side but continued to stare at Nick. “Hey, how are you.” Nick said to the group as if to indicate nothing happened before the group stepped into the elevator. The group said their hellos. Cindy remained silent as she still stared at Nick. The elevator doors closed and began to move down.
“Nick, I know you don’t mean that.” Cindy said out loud. “I know how you feel about me. You told me yourself.”
Nick could see the other people in the elevator facial expressions thru their reflection from the mirrored elevator doors. Nick looked at Cindy with wide eyes as if to tell her to shut up. He didn’t want to speak about that subject in front of strangers. The group started to make weird glances at each other wondering what was going on between the young couple (Nick and Cindy). “Do you remember, Nick? Huh?” Cindy said getting louder.
Nick clenched his jaw muscle once again as he felt flustered and upset. He couldn’t believe Cindy was acting this way in front of strangers. “Lower your voice,” he said quietly as looked at Cindy in the corner of his eye.
“No! Talk to me. Why are you acting like this?”
Nick laughed a nervous laughter as if trying to reassure the group in the elevator that everything was ok. The elevator came to a stop on the lobby floor. The group quickly walked off the elevator. Nick followed them off. He was so embarrassed. Cindy followed him. Nick decided to take the stairs down to the parking level. Cindy followed him. They were finally alone in the stairwell.
“Nick, answer me! Why are you acting like this?” Cindy asked as she followed him down the stairs.
Nick whipped around firmly shouted to her annoyed, “What! What do you want from me?!”
Cindy jumped when he shouted at her. “I want you. Why are you playing hard to get all of a sudden?” Cindy said quietly as Nick had backed her up against the wall.
“Playing hard to get? Im not playing with you Cindy!” Nick lowered his voice, “We’re not hooking up anymore.”
“Why?”
“Because Im married!”
“That never stopped you before. Why now? You don’t love me anymore?”
Nick looked at her confused. “Love you anymore? Cindy, I love my wife.”
“I know, but you said -- ”
“Because you told me to! It’s like dirty talk, remember?”
Cindy narrowed her eyes at Nick. “So, you used me?”
Nick stepped away rubbing his fingers thru his curly hair. He couldn’t believe he was having this conversation with Cindy.
Cindy fixed her clothes and her hair. “Okay.” She said calmly. “Im sorry. I guess I misunderstood the situation.”
Nick wanted to say, ‘duh!’ Instead he took a deep breath and replied, “Yeah, I guess you did.”
A single tear started to stream down Cindy’s cheek. “Im so embarrassed. Im really sorry, Nick.” Cindy started to walk away. She turned around to look at Nick, “Just promise me you won’t mention any of this to my uncle.”
Nick was starting to feel bad for being so harsh and making her cry. “Yeah…sure…I promise.”
“Thanks.” Cindy whispered as she walked away without looking back at Nick.

Chapter 18
Nick walked into the house at the sounds of Nina crying. He
put his briefcase down on the floor by the kitchen door and untied his black
tie as he walked into the living room. Nick was surprised to see his older brother
Joe handing Nina over to Selena as he sat on the floor. Nick chuckled, “So
you’re the one making my baby girl cry?”
Joe looked up to see Nick standing at the doorway of the living room. He smiled, “What’s up baby brother! ‘Bout time you get home.” Joe rose to his feet and walks over to Nick giving him a dap handshake and hug.
“What brings you over here?” Nick asked as he walked over to Selena giving her a peck on the lips and gently grabbing Nina from her. “What, I can’t come visit my niece and sister-n-law?”
“Not when you’re making your niece cry and giving your sister-n-law a hard time.” Nick teased bouncing Nina in his arms to calm her.
Selena picked up Nina’s baby bottles and stood up as she laughed, “Uncle Joe wouldn’t stop kissing on her and she got frustrated.”
“I miss my baby niece, what can I say.” Joe said with his arms out trying to see if Nina would come to him. Nina turned her head as she pouted her lips and held on tightly to Nick’s lavender collar shirt. Everyone said ‘Awe’ as they saw her cute little face pout.
“Tell uncle Joey to leave you alone.” Nick said to Nina in his baby talk. He then gave her little kisses making playful noises as he kissed her. Nina laughed a little.
Selena smiled as she reached for Nina. Nina jumped into her arms. “Okay, us ladies will leave you two alone to talk and bond…or do whatever you two crazy brothers like to do.” She then walked upstairs leaving Joe and Nick alone.
“Hey, come outside with me so I can smoke this cigarette.” Joe said as he tapped Nick on the arm.
Nick agreed and followed Joe out the front door. They sat down on the small steps down their porch. Nick started to un-tuck his shirt and unbutton it, exposing his white tank top. “Everything alright, bro?” Nick asked Joe.
Joe lit his cigarette, “Man, women are nothing but trouble. I don’t know how you do it.”
Nick chuckled as he thought about his drama episode with Cindy. “Yeah, tell me about it.”
“Ashley is giving me hell again.” Joe said taking his first puff of his cigarette.
Ashley Greene was Joe’s girlfriend of seven months now. It was the longest relationship he had been in since his first love, Camille, of 1 year. Since that break up, Joe, who is 26 years old, had been hopping from one girl to another.
“Let me guess, you wanna break up with her?”
“I don’t know man.” Nick shook his head. Joe continued as he smoked his cigarette, “How do you do it, bro? You’re a married man now…sticking it out with one chick for a lifetime. How do you do it?” Joe playfully punched Nick in the arm.
Nick laughed nervously. “Yeah, well…trust me…its not easy.”
There was an awkward silence as Joe stared at his brother suspiciously. “Dude…”Joe said breaking the silence, “...You stepped out on Selena?”
Nick didn’t respond. He looked down at the cemented steps they sat on.
“Holy shit, bro! With who?” Joe said loudly.
“Shhhhh!!” Nick said quickly as he shoved Joe’s shoulder to quiet him down.
Joe stood up and looked around to make sure Selena wasn’t around. He whispered as he propped his foot on one the steps and leaned down, “Who are you sleeping with?”
Nick looked back to make sure Selena wasn’t around. “Slept with…im not anymore.” Nick corrected Joe quietly.
“Yea ok, whatever…with who, bro?”
“You don’t know her.”
“Who?!” Joe begged quietly waiting impatiently for Nick to answer him.
Nick sighed. “Her name is Cindy Cyrus…my secretary.”
“Holy shit, bro. You’re fucking the fucking secretary?! Wow. Is she hot?”
Nick shoved Joe’s leg off the step, “C’mon man, what kind of question is that?”
Joe started to laugh out loud. Nick looked annoyed. Joe finally calmed down from laughing. “Okay, okay. Im sorry. Bro, that’s not good.” “Well, you’ll get to see what she looks like when you come to that family charity function I was telling you about for my boss’s client.” Nick said shamefully.
Joe chuckled as he attempted to hold in his laughter. “Did you tell Kevin?” Joe asked Nick of their oldest brother Kevin.
“Tell Kevin about the charity function?”
“No goofball, Im talking about you steppin out on Sel.”
“No. I didn’t want to hear his mouth in how disappointed in me he would be.” Nick answered lowering his head.
Kevin, 30 years old, was married as well. He had been married for 7 years and lived in Florida to be closer to his wife’s family.
“Yeah you’re right, dude…Kevin would act like dad giving you a preaching session.” Joe agreed with Nick as he took another puff of his cigarette. He continued, “So how many times you slept with this chick?”
Nick threw up two of his fingers in the air.
“Two times!?” Joe exclaimed. Nick looked up at Joe annoyed by his loud reaction. “Holy shit dude…she must be good.” Joe said thoughtfully.
Nick stood up, “You know what, Im done talking to you about this.”
“Okay, okay…bro, chill out. Well can you tell me what to do about Ashley?” Joe said as he followed Nick back into the house as he tossed his cigarette away.
-------------
Selena was wrapping up her homework when Nick hopped out of the shower. He threw on his boxers and climbed into bed next to Selena. Selena noticed that Nick had been really quiet since Joe had left after dinner. “Hey, is everything okay?” Selena asked.
“Yeah, Im just tired.”
“I set the alarm for you, since you have that really early meeting in the morning.” Nick thanked her softly. “I didn’t really get a chance to ask you earlier, but how was work today?”
Nick thought about the drama with Cindy again. He lied, saying, “It was great. You know, the usual.”
“Is Cindy still flirting with you?” Selena asked as a joke.
“What? No. Of course not. No way. Nope.” Nick said quickly almost defensively.
Selena looked at him puzzled. “Okay.” She hesitated wondering why he responded in that way. As she slid under the covers next to Nick she decided to change the subject, “So is Joe coming to the charity function thing for your job?”
“Yeah.”
“With his girlfriend, Ashley?”
“Not sure, why?”
“Well you know Demi comes into town tomorrow. I know she has a little crush on Joe, so …I was kinda hoping to reintroduce them to that great chemistry they had at our wedding. What do you think?”
Nick wrapped his arm around Selena to bring her in closer to him. “I dunno honey. Joe is such a player.”
“I think she would set him straight.”
Nick chuckled slightly as he closed his eyes.
“Im just glad Joe’s player ways never rubbed off on you.” Selena said with a smile as she closed her eyes.
Nick’s eyes opened as he thought about cheating on her with Cindy. He couldn’t figure out why he felt so bad for making Cindy cry earlier. He thought about her blue eyes and how hurt she looked. He then thought about her pretty smile, and her blondish hair; the way it swooped around her neck. Wait…why I am thinking about Cindy, Nick thought to himself. Nick rubbed his eyes trying to get Cindy out of his head. I love my wife, he thought. Nick looked at Selena laying next to him.
He suddenly moved his way on top of Selena looking down at her. Selena opened her eyes and looked up at Nick. He looked like he was in deep thoughts. “What’s wrong?” Selena asked confused.
Nick responded by kissing her lips soft and tenderly. Nick began to position himself between Selena’s legs as their kiss grew hungrier. Nick’s hands started to roam underneath Selena’s tshirt caressing her bare breasts. Selena began to softly moan thru their kisses. Nick began to pull at Selena’s panties to remove them when Nina, as if on cue, started to cry. Both Nick and Selena groaned because they hated to be interrupted. Nick smiled as he kept his face close to Selena’s. His lips lightly brushed against Selena’s lips as he spoke, “How does she do it? How does she know that mommy and daddy are trying to handle some business?” he joked.
Selena giggled. “I should go.” Selena responded as she attempted to move Nick off of her.
“No, I’ll go. You need a break.” Nick said as he rolled off of Selena.
“No, babe, its okay. I got it.” Selena moved out of bed and walked around to Nick’s side. She leaned down and whispered seductively in Nick’s ear brushing her lips lightly against his ear. “You just be ready when I get back.”
Nick felt goosebumps all over his body as soon as she did that. “Mmm,”Nick moaned at the thought of what would happen when she returned. He watched her walk out of the room.
About a minute later, Nick’s cell phone made a beeping noise notifying him that he had a text message. Nick wondered who would be texting him this late at night. He hopped out of bed to walk over to the dresser where his cell phone laid. He opened his phone and saw the following text:
|| FROM: Cindy Cyrus (work)
|| MSG: Missing You
|| Picture attached: {A picture of Cindy looking seductively into the camera, topless and with her hair tussled over to the side.}
Nick’s eyes went wide for a split second when he saw her picture. He had to admit, she looked hot! Nick knew he had to erase the message. As he went to erase the message, another incoming message came in making his cell phone ring out loud again. Nick cut the ringing short by reading the next message.
|| FROM: Cindy Cyrus (work)
|| MSG: Thinking of You
|| Picture attached: {A picture of Cindy with her legs spread open, wearing a red thong as she sucks her finger looking seductively into
the camera.}
Nick’s eyes went wide once again at the sight of the picture. It was like she was a professional porn star. As Nick walked back over to the bed and sat down on the edge of the bed, he quickly erased the message and went to erase the other when another message came in allowing his phone to ring aloud again. “Shit.” Nick whispered. Trying to erase the incoming message he accidentally opened it and a loud song started to play:
|| FROM: Cindy Cyrus (work)
|| MSG: Wanting You
|| Song Attached: {Rihanna – Skin}
Nick fumbled with his phone song trying to cut the song off as it played loudly. Nick said another curse when the song wouldn’t turn off. He finally quickly took the battery out of his phone. At that moment, Selena walks in with Nina in her arms. Nina was now appeared to be wide awake. “Sounds like somebody is blowing your phone up with messages…who was that?”
Nick, breathing slightly heavy from the panic with his phone, looked up at Selena and Nina. “Huh? Oh…uhm…it was just Joe being an ass… sending me crazy stuff.” Nick lied.
“Where was that music coming from?” Selena asked.
“Oh, it was just some stupid text joke from Joe…just some prude joke. You know how he is.” Nick laughed nervously. “Yeah, I took the battery out so we won’t get interrupted anymore tonite…but, it looks like Nina is not trying to get back to sleep anytime soon, huh?” Nick said quickly trying to change the subject.
Selena didn’t respond right away. She walked over to the edge of the bed holding Nina. “Yeah…I think she’s just cranky.”
Nick nodded taking a deep breath thinking about the crazy messages Cindy just sent to him. He is sure that if he had checked on Nina instead of Selena, Selena would have checked his phone seeing that the messages were from Cindy. He knew he had to give Cindy a piece of his mind when he got to work the next morning.
