Several weeks later, George went to go visit Cindy who had been out of the ICU for a couple of days. George walked into
the hospital room where Cindy was lying in the bed. She was still suffering
from a broken arm, collar bone, and a broken hip bone from the car accident. Her face and forearms were slowly healing from all of the
cuts from the shattered glass involved in the accident as well. “Cindy? Cindy, how
are you holding up, honey?”
Cindy slowly opened her eyes to see her uncle. “Uncle George?”
“Hi, honey. How do you feel?”
Cindy didn’t respond right away. She looked down, with a stiffness from the neck brace around her neck, at her broken arm in a cast and her other arm that was handcuffed to the rail of the bed. She realized that as soon as she was in better condition she would be going to jail. She softly replied, “They should have just let me die.”
Ignoring her comment, George said, “Honey, I want you to meet somebody.”
“No, uncle George. I don’t want to.”
“He’s going to help you. Dr. Munez is a psychiatrist.”
“Psychiatrist? Uncle George, are you saying Im crazy?”
“Honey…you have some mental issues going on and we need to figure out what’s going on.”
“What happened to Nick? I just want to see Nick. Uncle George, he could still be the father of my child.”
George took a deep breath. “See, this is what we're talking about. Cindy, honey, the doctors said you’re not pregnant. They said you never were pregnant.”
At that moment, the door to her hospital room opened. A tall dark and handsome Mexican man walked in wearing a blue shirt and a green tie. “Ah, thank you for coming, doctor.” George said to the man who walked in. He then turned to Cindy and said, “Cindy, this is a good friend of mine, Dr. Munez. The psychiatrist I was telling you about.” George said as he introduced Dr. Munez to Cindy.
“Hello, Cindy. It’s nice to finally meet you. I’ve heard a lot of things about you.” Dr. Munez said with a smile.
Cindy suddenly adjusted herself trying to look presentable and smiled flirtatiously at Dr. Munez. “Well, hello there. It’s so nice to meet you as well. I’ve heard a lot of great things about you. I think this is the start of a wonderful new relationship, doctor.” She smiled and winked at him.
